After reading many, many reviews on this product, I decided it was worth the extra expense and ordered it. Firstly it is a very impressive looking toaster oven. I had a small one before that didn't look AS small as it did once it was next to this one. I immediately cranked it up to burn off the leftover whatever from manufacturing. Once that was done, I promptly whipped up a batch of oatmeal cookies. I used my small Pampered Chef stoneware cookie sheet and it fit very well inside. I cooked the cookies in 3 batches of 6 for about 12-14 minutes each. On the second batch, I put the thermometer that I keep in my regular oven (that is perfectly accurate) into the Breville Breville BOV800XL The Smart Oven 1800-Watt Convection Toaster Oven with Element IQ, and found that the machine's temp is pretty far off. On the 3rd batch (oven had been on for over 30 minutes by this point including preheating time) with only 3 minutes left on the baking time, the oven reached about 327 degrees, it had been set to 350 degrees from the start. Although this is disappointing, it's not a deal breaker. Many of the regular ovens in our kitchens are of by many degrees (which is why I had the thermometer in there in the first place). The convection fan did make a bit more noise than I thought it should. More than just the whoosh of air sound, but more like a wobbly, wonky sound. Still, not horrible, and really only noticeable while I was standing right in front of it. Lastly, for the first two batches of cookies, I did not hear a beep, or a bell when the timer went off. I did, however hear it on the third batch. I would like it a little better if there was an interior light, I couldn't see my cookies baking and didn't want to keep opening the door due to the already lower than displayed temperature.
All in all, I think this will be an often used appliance. I was thankful I didn't have to crank up my big oven, and I really like the convection feature. I bought one toaster oven cookbook when I bought this, and I'm about to buy another. I'll keep you updated on the performance.

I'm sure it's early to be writing a review, but just gotta! I received my oven today via U.P.S., two days from the day I ordered it, and I'm in Alburgh, VT, right on the Canada border! I checked to make sure everything was in good shape, performed the initial burn-off, and checked the accuracy of the temperature, while it was doing the initial burn-off, 450 degrees, and then just to check another temperature, 350 degrees. I have an oven thermometer, to check. This oven is VERY accurate! I must admit, I haven't cooked anything yet, since I wasn't sure when it would arrive. But, everything seems to be working well, and the accuracy is great. My house was originally built as a camp, (or weekend place to some of you from other parts of the country). I have a very nice built-in cooktop, but there's never been an oven in the place. I live here year-round, since I moved here in 2003. I've always used "toaster-ovens". This unit is not a "toaster-oven", it's a countertop oven, with a lot more wattage than the other ones. Also, I can put a 9x13" pan in it, which is IMPOSSIBLE with all the others. This makes it a complete oven, for me. Granted, I live alone. But, for a single person or maybe a couple, this could easily be the ONLY oven!

The whole family loves the new oven. It is remarkably easy to use. All controls are big smooth knobs that spin effortlessly to just the right setting (shown on led screen). The controls are also intuitive. We've been using it for several months and have yet to crack the instruction manual. "But what about performance?" you ask. Six slices of toast evenly browned to perfection in 4 minutes. Cookies perfectly baked. Homemade meatballs cooked up in 20 minutes. Pizza and cheese melts are a snap. Brownies are chewy without a hint of dry cracked edges. The inside is capacious. I have reheated a rotisserie chicken and it came out bubbly and crisp without any blackening on top. I have pretty much abandoned our conventional oven in favor of this powerhouse. I also really like that the vents are on the sides near the top, so you can set extra pans or wooden cutting boards on top. This was definitely worth every penny.
